The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology Delhi on behalf of the Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification Directorate {STQC} under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has officially published the NIELIT Delhi Driver Recruitment 2026 notification. For the position of Staff Car Driver {Ordinary Grade} the eligible Indian citizens are encouraged to apply online. For the Southern and Western regions a total of 4 positions have been announced. The online application process will start from 28/January/2026 at 11:30 AM until the date of 26/February/2026 at 5:30 PM. Group C/Non-Gazetted/Non-Ministerial positions which provide stable central government employment with Pay Level-2 salary benefits are being recruited for. Selection will be based on a written exam which will be followed by a qualifying skill test.

Experience and Academic Qualifications:-

Candidates who are interested must have completed the 10th grade from a well-known board. Also a valid driving licence and at least 3 years of driving experience are compulsory for this position. Preferences will be given to the candidates who have completed at least three years’ service as Home Guard or Civil Defence Volunteer

Age Limit:-

In order to apply for this position the candidates must be at least eighteen {18} years old and no older than twenty-five {25}. Candidates should be aware that eligible categories and ex-servicemen will receive age relaxation in accordance with Indian government regulations. Cental government employees with at least 3 years of regular service will be eligible for age relaxation to 40 years

Selection Procedure that will be followed for this recruitment:

The selection process will be conducted in two stages and candidates must qualify for each stage to move on in this recruitment process.

Written Examination:-

The first stage of the selection process is a written exam of objective type. The exam will consist of a total of 1120 questions carrying 120 marks. The question paper will cover subjects such as General Awareness – General Intelligence and Elementary Mathematics – General English/Hindi – Traffic Rules and Driving Techniques. There will be no negative marking for attempting any incorrect answers. To qualify for the written exam the candidates that belong to the general and EWS categories must secure at least 25% marks.

Skill Test:-

The skill test will be qualifying in nature and will be conducted to assess the practical abilities of the candidate. It will include a practical driving test to check real-time driving skills. Candidates will also be assessed on their knowledge of basic motor mechanisms and their ability to identify minor defects. In addition awareness of traffic rules will be tested during this stage. This test will be held only in New Delhi. It is important to note that the final merit will be prepared solely on the basis of marks scored in the written exam.
